Government tax collections for November totalled
174 billion baht, 15.2% or 23 billion baht higher than the set target,
finance ministry spokesman Somchai Sajjapong said on Friday.
Mr Somchai said the government’s first time car-buyers tax rebate
scheme and an increase in domestic consumption had helped boost excise
tax on car and value-added tax revenues. The government’s net revenue over the first two months of the 2013 fiscal budget (October and November) was higher than the target by 25.1 billion baht, he added.
Mr Somchai, the director general of the Fiscal Policy Office, was confident that the government’s revenue target of 2.1 trillion baht for 2013 fiscal year would certainly be achieved.
