Jessica Alba has risen from the ranks of sexy actress to A-list fashionista with ease.
Now, after the launch of her book, The Honest Life, in mid-March, she’s climbing the New York Times Best Sellers List, as proven by her book ranking on the list on March 31.
The actor-turned-author celebrated the news of landing the number 3 spot in the Advice & Misc. category of the famed book list with a shopping outing with her daughter, Haven, on Tuesday.
Best seller: Jessica Alba, 31, went out for a
shopping trip in Beverly Hills on Tuesday with daughter Haven after news
of landing on the New York Times Best Sellers list
The mother-daughter duo was dressed in outfits perfectly fit for spring.
Jessica wore casual, deep blue skinny jeans under layers of sheer white cotton tops.
A light pink scarf wrapped around the Sin City star’s neck, offering a pretty pop of colour that matched her pink loafers.
Pretty pair: Both the author and her
one-year-old daughter were dressed for the California spring weather in
vibrant shoes and light layers
Cuddled up: Baby Haven looked comfortable in her mother's arms as they headed in for some shopping
Baby Haven matched her mother’s denim trousers and also wore slip-on Mary Janes in a vibrant orange.
A T-shirt adorned with a peacock and a beige cardigan kept the tot warm as she hung next to her mother and played with a toy.
The Honest Life: If Jessica is using the advice
from her own book, it certainly seems to be working as the natural
beauty has never looked better
Girls' afternoon: Baby Haven pouted as the sun
shone in her face, but was soon to be relieved by the shelter of
Barney's New York
The Honest Life: Living Naturally and True to You was inspired by the beauty’s desire to create a safe, healthy environment for her family.
She found that there was little information out there that was both trustworthy and practical, so she sought outward advice.
In 2012, she paired with entrepreneur Brian Lee and environmental activist Christopher Gavigan to launch The Honest Company, where parents can find reliable information on products that are safe and affordable for the whole family.
On the list: Jessica's new book, The Honest
Life, has landed in the number three spot of the Advice & Misc. list
on the New York Times Best Sellers
Sharing with the New York Daily News, Jessica said: ‘Alicia Silverstone is vegan, so she’s the extreme side of it.
‘Gwyneth Paltrow probably lives a very similar lifestyle, but I didn’t grow up with a bunch of money, so my tips are much more grounded: repurposing things and making things at home.’
